My Spring Fling

So those of you who know me, know that I'm a romantic, very sentimental, and passionate about warm weather.

I'm laughing at myself, but the "spirit so moved me" and the warm weather got to my head that I had to get my thoughts out.

So here's my spring poem:

The winter was long, dark, silent.
It encased my soul as a thick, wool blanket.

Spring has come and the sun, like a soldier fighting miles away,
comes to set everything free.

The warm rays roll over my bare skin.
My body is infused with more life.

A deep long breath of air.
It feels perfect to breath.

I feel the sensation of earth under under my toes,
thank you God for all these and Spring.

I just couldn't help myself...

I remember getting the biggest kick out of Nicholas' block creations. This one Pudding did all by herself....for some reason it is so cute to me. I think it's because she is so little and to see her tiny creation of a really big stack of blocks somewhat funny. I LOVE watching her do this...the concentration, the attempt to steady her fat hands and carefully place the blocks on top of each other. Just can't get enough. She did this for an hour.

We found a chipmunk raiding our pantry...

All these little Somethings mean a great deal of Everything

I'm finding myself lying in bed at night looking forward to getting Pudding up each morning to play with her and squish her all day or to have a conversation with Nicholas about his trains or his trains and maybe about what he wants for lunch.

It's all these little things we do each day: dancing, playing with couch cushions, coloring, reading, maybe running an errand or two, our routine for bath time or nap time and each "little something" that mean everything to me.

Some days are mundane, some are memorable....most are ordinary and I thank God I am blessed to live each one.

We think we are big stuff these days....

This is how I usually find her, one shoe on and one shoe off. She knows she just climbed the couch all by herself and is so proud of herself.

Trying for the fourth time yesterday to steal some more raisins.

A Tribute to Jana-Mad

I just spent five wonderful days with Jana and Madeline. I am so LUCKY to have such incredible sisters.

Part of God's plan for my life has moved me away from my family and I don't get to see their day to day life happenings, soccer games, and school plays. My heart aches sometimes when I realize I'm missing that, but I know I am where I'm meant to be, as are they.

On the other hand, it makes me cherish the time I do get to spend with them and moments like our "mini spring break" together. They have know idea how happy they make me...how great it is to share family jokes and belly laughs and nicknames.

Top Five Moments of the "Start of Summer" (because it actually reached 60 degrees in Kansas)
1. Picking you up at the train station and seeing you come out in our family famous dress up clothes (we've had them no less than 20 years and used to image we were in old days riding on trains)

2. Lunch in the Plaza in Kansas City

3. Excursion out to the country and watching the sun set (during a minor wind and dust storm)

4. Sonic drinks, bubble gum, nail polish, and bathroom paint.

5. Bowling with a bright yellow scarf and two bowlers who couldn't score past 50.

6. Late night bowls of cereal and everyone on one bed.

I love you girls so much - I'm so thankful we got to spend some time together. It means the world to me!!
